Tooth Whitening
Tooth Whitening- a solution of carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide is incorporated into a gel that keeps the solution active for a short time (15minutes to 4 hours). After that the solution turns into water. The higher the concentration and the longer the active solution remains in contact with the teeth the greater the effect of the whitening. At equal concentrations, hydrogen peroxide is almost 3 times as strong as carbamide peroxide. Some gels and higher concentrations can cause temporary tooth sensitivity that can be diminished or eliminated by a variety of methods.
