Sealants- a flowable composite is applied to the surface of the back teeth. This coating prevents food and bacteria from accumulating in the pits and grooves of teeth and thereby protects the teeth from decay. The ADA recommends that sealant be placed on the permanent molars as soon as they erupt into the child’s mouth.
