Extractions- sometimes a tooth is so badly broken down that it can’t be saved and needs to be removed. A sound tooth that has not erupted properly is sometimes extracted to improve the patient’s overall dental health. We perform simple and surgical extractions.
The following x-rays show why sometimes it is better to extract some wisdom teeth. The impacted wisdom tooth damaged the tooth in front of it (the second molar) and resulted in the need to extract the second molar. The patient would have been better off extracting the wisdom tooth before it had caused the damage to the second molar because the second molar was in the proper position and had better developed roots.
